Join the thought exchange

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, we held our fourth hybrid LHS Building Project Community Forum at 6:30 p.m. The topics of this forum included a student job shadowing update, a focus group update, massing studies, an alternatives/options review, a cost estimate review, a survey review, and a public discussion. The project team presented 18 conceptual massing studies for the Lexington High School Project, and we would like your feedback. The exchange is open now and will be closed on May 16th at 11:59pm.  Results will be reviewed with the School Building Committee and documented on the project website on May 20th.

Project Overview

On March 2, 2022, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) invited the Town of Lexington into the MSBA’s Eligibility Period for a new or renovated Lexington High School.

Current Module: Module 3 - Feasibility Study

Upon successfully completing the procurement process for Owner's Project Management and Designer services, the Project Team, the District and its team collaborate with the MSBA to:

  • Document their educational program

  • Create an initial space summary

  • Document existing conditions

  • Set design parameters

  • Develop and assess alternatives

  • Recommend the most cost-effective and educationally appropriate preferred solution to the MSBA Board of Directors for their consideration.

During this phase, the Owner's Project Manager will submit, on behalf of the District and its Designer, a Preliminary Design Program and a Preferred Schematic Report. Approval by the MSBA Board of Directors is necessary for all projects to progress into schematic design.
