Traffic & Parking

  • Parking at the Park Drive & Clarke Street Playground remains unavailable for the month due to fencing of the skatepark staging area.

  • Worthen Road parking in front of the construction site remains reduced; spaces have been removed.

  • Contractor trailers remain in place on Park Drive. Expect steady truck traffic entering and exiting at that location throughout September.

  • Site preparation for the pile working platform runs from mid-September through late October. Expect increased truck and heavy-equipment traffic.

  • Beginning the last week of September, installation of the replacement parking lot at the skatepark gets underway. Expect equipment staging and short-duration restrictions around the Park Drive/Clarke Street entrance.

Noise

  • Trucks will continue coming to and from the site throughout the month.

  • Grading and earthwork for the pile working platform will generate excavation, grading, and compaction noise during permitted work hours from mid-September onward.

  • Throwing cage foundation and grading work occurs mid-month near the field area — concrete and small-equipment noise, short duration.

  • Skatepark drainage work runs the second half of September, followed by concrete slab placement at the end of the month. Expect concrete trucks, pumping, and finishing equipment.

  • All work remains within permitted work hours.

Bus & Pedestrian

  • The sidewalk along Worthen Road will have temporary interruptions above the site fence.

  • Temporary walkways around the skatepark staging area remain in place for the month.

  • Clarke Street water main installation begins the last week of September. Expect temporary sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours at the trench location, with flaggers directing pedestrians around the work zone.

Schedule Changes

  • No changes to the project schedule this month.

  • Permitted demolition of existing structures and the Town's Clarke Street water valve replacement are both complete.

  • Full perimeter site fencing inside the wetland buffer zones is scheduled to begin in early October, following completion of the Conservation Commission/DEP review period.

Utilities & Services

  • Town water valve replacement work at Clarke Street is complete.

  • Clarke Street water main installation begins the last week of September and runs approximately two weeks. Any planned service interruption to abutting properties will be noticed in advance.

  • Sanitary utility relocation work serving the existing school begins in early October; no service interruption to the school is anticipated.
